I was planning and hoping to give my two roos to my aunt and pick a hen from my ant flock to take home, and well my question was, how do you add a new hen to your flock...i only have another silkie hen at home...
is their anything i need to do, or can i just add her in the coop...?

Hi Alex, good on you for being able to rehome 2 roos!
What type of chickens do you have? 1 silky? what breed is the other one who is coming?
There will be a few dustups but nothing major!
You folks usually need to keep them separate (quarantine) for a couple of weeks.
I usually just let them in bit I buy pairs at a time so they have someone to take comfort with as they are being chased all around the yard.
Failing this, keep the oldies locked up for a few hours then let the newbie in so she knows where the food and water is, especially if you freerange them. Then she will be able to find water quickly, she may need it!!then let the oldies out.
Otherwise an easy way is to fence them so they are separate for a few days but can still talk through the wire.
Good luck
