Hi, I'm Don Olson in Ottertail, MN. I raised chickens for my parents when I was 11 to 13. So what did I do, now that I'm 80? I converted a corn crib into a chicken coop and bought 30 chickens; 24 hens and 6 roosters. They are not laying yet. I got them the end of May, but I'm hopeful. I feed and give them water daily plus clean the coop weekly with straw. For a treat, they get cracked corn in their yard. I'm new to BYC and look forward to a lot of help.

Glad you joined us! I think cutting back the roosters to only 2 would help things a bit.

Thank you. We will have chicken (rooster) every Sunday for 4 weeks.
