So, I had three wayward chickens show up at 4 am a few nights ago. I have no idea on age, but I am guessing they are between 12-14 weeks as I currently have 10 week old pullets who are a bit smaller and they are a couple inches shorter than my 1 yr old hens. I am thinking that there are two red sex links and maybe a white leghorn? The white is a little smutty. I was thinking that they were pullets, but the reds have some long tail feathers sticking off. If they were cockerels though, I thought that they would have much more white if they really are red sex links. They are very sweet and quiet. I am torn on everything: age, sex, breed. Any help? Thanks!!

#1- Naturally, my 4 year old wants to name her Anna.

#2- and she wants to name this one Elsa...

#3 Has some looong tail feathers

Looks to be red sex link pullets, and the whitish one I'm not to sure on!

Yes, I agree, but those tail feathers are what's throwing me off. Never had a pullet with them like that before and I currently have a few other RSL's.

Look like girls to me. The white one I think is a leghorn mix. The California white is a mix of a white leghorn and a grey leghorn. I see some buff or champagne in the coloring and that is throwing me off a bit. My CW's lay nice eggs but do not have that pretty buff coloring at all only a few black spots.

Thanks for the response. She does have very pretty golden buff highlights on her breast.

Perhaps Tetra Tint, which is a similar production hybrid.

Interesting about the Tetra Tint. I was not familiar with that "breed", but I can see they also have the pretty buff coloring and black smut. I also looked up Tetra Brown's and the image I saw looked exactly like red-sex links.
