chickens sleeping outside

i just put my 10 week olds in new run area . made 2 temp. houses 4by 4 in size . i go out tonite and they are all outside laying in one big pile . supposed to rain tommorow hope they go inside . will they go in i hope . also i dont have any roost for them do they need it or not ??

yea mine use a roost at 6 wks so it wouldnt hurt
they will head in side when it rains

mine do it too. I dont think it is really something to worry about but you could heard them all indoors if you are worried. I just get them all in and shut the coop up for the night and then at day break (around 7am here) I go outside and let them out. This works for me since i am obsessed with doing a head count every morning with my coffee.

p.s. Chickens will try to drink your coffee!!!
