Chickens standing in the rain

Well, thanks for all the responses! I’m not so worried about it now 😊 they just look so miserable with their tails down 😭😭😭
I feel your pain, I hate to see them out there. As long as they have access to their henhouse & they have that choice, we should try (LOL TRY) not to worry. Have a great day! I'm in Clay County Florida and it is POORING right now. I keep checking on my girls out there, I can see then from the sliding glass doors.

Some chickens just enjoy the rain. I raise silkies. It's raining right now and they're all out in it.

We have a lot of cover here, but they don't use it.

If it's going to be a really bad day with lots of wind and rain, storms, or in the winter with blizzards, I don't let them out in the yard. We have a covered pen off the coop we can let them go into but that's as far as I let them go in really bad conditions.
Here's a few of mine a couple of years ago. They get so dirty, but somehow they manage to look all beautiful the next day.

Lord thank you for your reply I’m a first timer with silkies and I’m going out of my mind! So worried about them getting wet dirty anything I was like what am I gonna do now can’t sleep out there lol although it has crossed my mind! I’ve went out in the pouring ran to try to push them into the covered run I was drenched and my neighbors I’m sure got a good laugh 😆 after a couple of slips and tumbles! lol I’ve considered not letting thing out to fr when it’s calling for ran but that seemed mean to me there’s not a clock on the rain or these thunder busters. There are multiple places that they can get shelter but most of the time they will be huddled together under some pallets I have leaned up against a big oak tree that provides 90% of the shade in my yard. It’s massive or they huddled under the raised fire pit both of these places are just few feet away from the covered run 🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️
