That was my original question. How much ventilation is in the chicken house?
Being out during the day doesn't help their tiny respiratory systems at night when a buildup of ammonia and pathogens can take hold without sufficient air exchange.

Thankyou! She is second in command now! My leader is ill so she will soon overtake her! I posted a thread on her illness, called something like "chicken with lump on her face". The lump is soft, between beak and eye, she's white, and 4 years old, it is under her skin, it's about the size of a pea. Any ideas?
