I would put out at least one additional feeder and water spaced as far from the others as possible. It doesn't take much time for a bird that isn't able to eat and drink regularly to grow weak. Also, some hiding places, roosting spots, a pile of leaves or mulch could be added. Anything different will take the older birds attention off the younger ones.Coop area has a run 9 x 6 and the extension run is a 15 x 3. The pecking is not in the coop, but in the run. Especially with treats and food, they chase them away. I do understand that more space will help but I thought by now they would get along.
The run is way too narrow making the space even more insufficient. It's basically like running the gauntlet. It needs to be much wider with lots of things in it to perch on and hide behind. The low ranking pullets don't feel secure as they don't have the room they need to get away from the higher ranking birds when they need to.Especially with treats and food, they chase them away. Thanks, it also has a 9 x 6 area too3 x 15 is only 45sq feet for your 8 birds? Was there a typo somewhere?
