Hello! I had posted about few weeks ago about my chickens having coccidiosis. I gave them 7 days of Corid and now they are better except for their egg laying. I stopped giving them Corid exactly 2 weeks ago today so I thought that they would be laying again by now. Before they had gotten sick, they were just starting to lay consistently. While they were sick, they were not laying eggs either which I thought was normal but was now wondering why they haven't started again? Is that normal for them not to lay this late after having coccidiosis? Thank you!

I can't remember where you are located (north or south of the equator) or anything about the age of your flock so I'll make some guesses.

There is a myth that pullets will all continue to lay throughout their first fall/winter until the molt the following fall. Many do follow that pattern but many don't.

With yours just starting the expectation would be that they would continue. But stress can start a molt. It's possible that yours started molting when they had coccidiosis and will molt this year and skip laying while they molt. Are you seeing feathers laying around that might indicate a molt? That would be my top guess.

Sometimes we think they have stopped laying when they are really hiding a nest. They can be pretty creative when they hide a nest. Could that be your issue or part of the issue?

Sometimes critters are getting the eggs. Lots of things can take the eggs. Some leave signs like broken shells or wet spots, some do not. Is it possible something is getting the eggs?

I don't know what is going on. Good luck in figuring it out.
