Chickens subathing??

Today I brought the brooder out into the sun and my chickens started to lay down and sleep. What are they doing?

Yes, they are sunbathing. A few of mine also “melt” in the sun; lying on their side with one wing outstretched. It is adorable I think.

They look very happy
