I have 2 red comet hens and 3 EE chicks. I recently built a run so they could get out a bit from the store-bought coop and run and get a little extra snacks. I watched as one hen figured out how to use the ramp to get back into the coop. I saw her "teaching" the other hen to use the ramp! Speedy went partially up the ramp and turned to the other hen (Sophie) and make some small sounds. Soon Sophie got on the bottom of the ramp and Speedy went further up and turned around again. Speedy then went inside the coop and turned around inside to face the door where Sophie was standing, again making small sounds. Sophie made a sudden leap for the door and both were happily inside the coop with the EE chicks. A few days later I saw the chicks outside with the hens! Could Speedy also have taught the chicks how to get into the run??
