Chickens to nesting boxes ratio

Aww thank you! I had a lot of fun building it. My kids drew pictures for the chickens and I framed them and hung them on the wall. That's a remote display thermometer by the door (this is the coop unit, and the home unit is in our kitchen where I can monitor the temperature in the coop remotely). They also have an automatic door and a couple of cameras in there as well. Fancy chickens!

Here are some more pictures of the coop - better angles and in color:

OMG, soooooo sweet! The framed pictures, the set up, it is amazing! So it sounds like the coop is temperature controlled for the heat and cold? It's a little house.....amazing! I'm in AZ and we have a swamp cooler right outside the run, so it works well in the hot summer. We've only had chickens since June 2020. But we just love having them! It has been colder the last few days, but not enough to worry like you would in MA. Thanks so much for not only your response but going through the trouble of more pictures! I love it!!!!!

Thank you for the kind words! I’m glad you enjoyed the pictures.

The coop isn’t temperature controlled, I just have the remote thermometer so I can check what the temperature is without having to go out there 😁 It was really useful in the summer. That’s how I found that the coop wasn’t cooling down deep into the night, it was retaining heat despite both windows open all the way, and plentiful vents all around under the eaves. I wouldn’t have thought to get out there and check at night, but having the thermometer in the kitchen, I glance at it periodically, so that’s how I found out. I ended up replacing the human door of the coop with a screen door for the summer. It really helped get some air and a cross breeze in there. So that’s the extent of my temperature control 😁
