I have been looking at this website for advice on my chicks lately. Before I got my 24 chicks, I only had a chicken and a duck. (One of the ducks passed away, so I got a chicken so it would survive winter with it) we borrow the chicken from a friend, and planned to give it back once winter was over, but the 2 are inseparable. Anyway, the chicken has something wrong with one of its toes. It's black, and all puffed up. I'm not really sure what's going on with it.

If the chick's toe wasn't black to start with ( ie a Silkie chick) I would think she will need an amputation.
