chickens too thin

I am new to having chickens so please bare with me. I just bought 3 Hens (Rhode Island Reds) I picked one up and realized she has absolutely no meat on her chest. It's all bone. He was feeding them chicken scratch and that's all. I don't know if this is normal. Am I feeding them correctly? I bought the medicated chick starter blend They are under a year old. I have been throwing out veggies and fruits. We bought some cracked corn and seed blend and were originally just throwing them that. They are free range at my home but he had them (8 total) in a small covered shed like structure. What can I do to fatten them up? They are not for food, I just want healthy happy chickens.

It may come to a shock, but fatty chickens is not healthy chickens

I didn't feel anything other than the bone plate. Is that normal? No fleshiness at all.

No certainly not, Try deworm them and with a healthy diet they would be back on track
