Hi everyone!
A little back story, our chicken has been with us for about 6 years. She randomly showed up on our door step when she was probably 3 to 4 months old in the middle of the city.
We have an old cat Kennel (fairly large) we keep her in at night as her coop, and we have some bedding in there for her. Day time she resides in her own room (a old bathroom not used often that has tile floor for cleaning)
She has been a good bird and produced eggs for a couple years before she got a sour crop and we treated her and she never did get back to laying after (maybe one egg if that ever since)
Not worried about that tho, she is part of the family.
A few days ago she ingested a bit of a plastic can liner and my wife freaked. This she seems to have passed that just fine now. But she also started eating bits of whatever she could find that she was not supposed to. Things jammed in corners (dirt, hair, paint chips off the wall, etc) that may have traveled in there.
Today I examined her as she has been pretty quiet, and has not eaten much since she has did this. I noticed her poop has been pretty liquidy (its gotten hot here in NM and I figured she was hot and it was fine) but now as I turned her over, I see she is having slimey sticky white/yellow poop mainly white, coming out of her vent and running down her feathers. I cleaned her up and found her vent is protruding slightly (not blown out) and isn't closing all the way and seems a bit swollen around and underneath the vent area.
Went back in to check on her about an hour later to find more poop coming down her and cleaned her up again. Vent still open a bit and pulsating like she is pushing more out or something.
Not sure if this is just some Diarrhea, and I should take up her food for a bit? Or if she has the starting of a prolapsed Vent that I have read about on here.... it does not look like a blow out just open and a little bit of the inner lining is protruding while she pushes.
Any info would be great!
