Chickens? Why do u like chickens so much?

To get fresh eggs, and not have to buy from the store. To enjoy them, watch them(when its warmer) scratch and do their normal antics. Later I would like to try hatching eggs, breeding and raising some for meat. I like them because they can be a pet and give you food without having to be culled. Their waste can be used as a nice fertilizer

and you could supplement feed with weeds and bugs. One thing that attracted me to chickens, besides the eggs, is how many different types of breeds and sizes, colors.

I like my chickens so much-------no-------I LOVE my chickens so much because unlike everything else they always bring a smile to my face.

I work at home so there is no getting away from work, add teens to the mixture.

Stepping into my back yard is like entering another dimension. The girls know the second the back door opens and come running to greet me.

I, personally don't believe it's mentally possible to watch a running chicken and not at least smile.




the eggs and the bug eating are simply an added bonus to an already wonderful creature

My two-cents; I was raised around farm animals and I have cows already so I figured why not some chickens. And I am so sick of eating all those darn chemicals they put in our foods from the stores. I mean it is gross and laugh if you want but I think a lot of illnesses come from people eating all that crap poisoning our foods found in the stores. I have to say I don't think I can raise chickens to kill for the meat but heck if I get hungry enough I guess it could happen. But as long as I can deer hunt I will not be cutting any chickens' heads off or slaughtering any of my cows. I think people should be proud to live off the land and not believe that our country will provide for us when we need it. People should go back to the simple pleasures of life.

I love my chickens for all the crazy stuff they do, the noises they make while scratching thru the grass and the dirt, leaving neat little marks on the ground. I love them for the way they out of the blue race around the yard then stop suddenly. I love them for jumping up in the air to get a noodle or a piece of fruit and I definitely love seeing them sprawled out on their sides taking a nice dirt or dust bath.

It too kills me to hear people express their disgust at eating "yard eggs" or brown eggs because brown eggs taste different. They'd freak out to know some eggs are blue and or green and other colors! I just love 'em for their personalities and the funny stuff they do

I know what I'm eating when I collect their eggs.
