Chickens with bare red bottoms

I'm dealing with this and am so frustrated and confused. I have a coop divided into two sides; both the exact same size. On one side, most of the hens (but not all) AND the roo has red, bare bottoms. I've searched and searched for lice/mites, use DE in the coop shavings, and sometimes pour it in the yard as a dust bath. On the other side of the coop, which actually has more birds than on the other, not ONE red bum! Same food, same shavings, same DE, etc... They get lots of good treats and I don't see ANY pecking on each other. The roost is way large enough for all - it is 17' linear feet for 10 birds. The coop has six windows. I just can NOT understand why only one side of the coop/birds has this issue!!! ARGH!!! (They are overall very happy, laying, clucking fools!)

We have one hen that has an extremely red bottom. Have checked her daily and putting a small amt of antibiotic cream on the red part. Not sure what is going on. Doesn't seem to b any picking on her. She does have a crusted looks like cornbread on her bottom. My husband cleaned it off and applied the antibiotic cream. Also isolated her just in case she is getting picked on and we arent seeing that. Any ideas? We had another one that had the same thing but is bttr after the antibiotic cream.

Update. The chickens with the very red bottoms are much better. We cleaned them gently and applied a small amt of anti bacterial cream. Looking much better now and new feathers are coming in.

I'm having the same problem

Garden Gal, I'm having the same problem. I have 2 hens and one roo. They all have had red bottoms. A few weeks ago one of my hens had maggots. I took care of that but the red bottom still exist. The others don't have a problem with maggots. Was curious to know if you found a solution to the red bottoms
