Hello Community!
Our beautiful little black Astrolorp hen Merryweather has developed a horrible problem with her legs.
The vet told us it probably occurred when she was an egg and there might have been a change in the temp.
Heartbreakingly we didn't notice it until she had grown up and her legs began to bend.
Now her little legs go out either side, it looks like she is doing the splits. She can no longer support her body weight and struggles to move around.
We've been told the kindest thing to do is euthanise her.
We are so sad this is our only option, because obviously we love her and essentially she is healthy (other than her leg thing)
I wanted to know, if anyone else has experienced this deformity and if there is anything we can do to ease her pain and give we a better quality of life?
Thank you!
