I need some insight from more experienced chicken people. Last year we bought a naked nake, hambergs and some ameracaunas from MM and Meyer Hatcheries. We lost 5 of them when they were about 16-20 wks old. All would have similar symptoms and then just die. Start to finish, it would take maybe a day or 2. Symptoms included WEIGHT LOSS< COULD FEEL THE KEEL BONE EASILY, WOULD ACT LIKE THEY WERE EATING< PECKING AT FOOD BUT BARELY TAKING ANY IN, TAKING SIPS OF WATER, THEY WOULD STAND STILL, LOOK LIKE THEY WERE SLEEPING STANDING UP, STOOL MORE LOOSE THAN USUAL(WHITE/GREEN)
Chickens are feed medicated purina chick starter. We add a Tablespoon of vinegar to water couple times a week, we also add electrolytes a few times a week too. We give our chickens the Natural wormer from MM, I think its called WORMGUARD weekly. We lost about 5-6 chickens last year. This year we are having the same thing with a few chickens(3) we purchased. We have only had one chicken with these symptoms die that we hatched. Last year someone thought it was worms, So I wormed them with WAZINE, I don't know if it helped becausea all the ones that had symptoms died, and I used the natural wormer on the healthy ones. ANY IDEAS?? Need some experienced help. Thanks for reading. (PS I Have sprayed them for mites, about 1 month ago)
