Hi!
This is our first time raising chickens - they live free-range in our back yard and have a lovely A-frame coop. For a long time (after they were old enough to be outside, of course), they would go in the coop when it started to get dark outside, and all we had to do was lock them in there. Lately, however, they have started to roost in a tree rather than returning to the coop. This leads to us getting them out of the tree, then running around and chasing them until they go in the coop. It makes for a comical evening, but we're getting tired of it. Is there something we are doing wrong? How can we encourage them to go to the coop in the evenings?
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide,
Lori
