Chickens won't go into area of Coop

My chicken coop has an area underneath it for a run, with an entrance/exit to the non-coop run. For some reason I can't seem to be able to get my chickens into that area. It has a ramp down with a trap door that covers up the entrance, but that trap door is always open. This is starting to be a problem because I am not sure my chickens are getting the needed exercise and extra nutrition (bugs and other forgeables), as well as making it very difficult to clean the coop.
I have had my chickens for six days, and they were not hand-raised (they are four/fiveish months old) so I am also working on getting them comfortable around me. What can I do to get them to go down there? I have tried putting treats (mealworms, watermelon, and scratch) around the trap door, on the ramp, and in the run but they don't seem to go after it. A chicken has fallen/been pushed down into the run three times but they always try to get out really fast and do go off of the ramp. What should I do? Is this not issue?

This could be one of a few things - or a combination of more than one. First thing to consider is that your birds have had a considerable stress due to their very recent move -- chickens are creatures of routine, and something as major as the disruption of moving from their old home and into the new can be quite stressful for them. As they become more comfortable in the new setting they will come out of their shells, so to speak, and begin to give into their natural curiosity which will lead them to begin exploring.
Then there is the matter of the potential for what looks like a perfect setup from a human perspective not always being seen that way from a chicken perspective, meaning that the coop/run setup may not be quite as appealing to them as it could be. Can you take and post some photos of the coop and run so that we can help you spot potential areas where small changes may make large differences with regards to the comfort of your birds?

So I mostly just need to wait and make the chickens comfortable/feeling safe?
