Chickens won't lay eggs

Well I have a question too. I have 15 layers and haven't had more than 1 egg a day since last week. Half of them are getting very bald on their backs and around their necks. I am guessing that is molting (very new to this). I thought the rooster was doing the damage but haven't caught him in the act. Where do I get bluecote from. I saw that as a recommendation in the FAQ. Has anyone used that on their molters to keep the others from pulling out more or do they really get very bald during molting? Now when I say bald of course they have some feathers but thier backs are completely bare in some spots and their necks also. Some have feather stick looking things without the fluff and some don't even have that and are quite red. I can start them on cat food but do i do that in exclusion of layer food or as an addition? And will that hurt my pullets that are in there with them, they are 18 weeks? All my chickens are RIR's so should I expect to get any eggs during the winter?

Thanks for your help,

Nicole

Good question Nicole. I for one have no idea. I haven't done any research on molting, and know that I need to do that soon. My big girls are 32 weeks old and my little ladies are 23 wks, they should start laying any day
