Hello, I bought 4 laying hens 2 weeks ago and so far I have gotten a total of one egg combined. My other ladies are doing fine, but all 4 of the new one are doing nothing... They all seem fine not sick or anything. I know they are probably stressed and adjusting to the new pecking order but wat can I do to help whip these ladies in shape?!? Suggestion... Please and thank you

.... Also just FYI I was told the hens are between 12-18 months old and breeds are 2 jerseys, one golden laced polish (she is so beautiful but I know they are not prolific layer) and a white leghorn... The only one who laid was the leghorn and she laid it the day after we brought her home and the egg was pretty bloody like the hen gave birth to it...

Hi, welcome to BYC!

It's going to take time for the new girls to settle in, as you said.

A couple of questions...
* Did you quarantine the new birds before putting them in with the others? You can't always tell just by looking that chickens are healthy.
* How did you integrate the new chickens with your existing flock? Without time to get used to each other first, the new ones may be being picked on and stressed out by the existing flock.
* Is it possible they are laying eggs somewhere other than in the nesting box?
* Is their diet different than what they were getting?

Chickens lay when they are ready to lay so give them some time.

No did not quarantine them... They where not getting pick on actually the jerseys where the aggressors and dominate one but just yesterday I built them their own pen about 50 ft away from the otheres... Also yes I completely changed their diet they are on a 16% protein gro crumble lots of fresh produce daily oyster shells mixed in daily and also some alfalfa number one from the goats

Thank you y'all for the advise so just keep them nice and comfy until they start back up again
