Chickens wont roost...HELP!!!

Everytime i check they are just huddled in the back at night. It doesnt seem like they are even sleeping when i go to put them on the roost its like u said. I guess i will just keep going Nd make them get up there. Freaking chickens just go sleep up on the roosts.

What does that mean? You can catch them and/or set them on the roost or that they won't stay?

I know when I was 'teaching' mine, it felt like I was herding cats...I'd put one pullet on the roost and get a second. Number 1 would then jump off. I'd put Number 2 on the roost and reach for Number 1. Number 2 then jumps off. I had 7 of them to wrangle with. Rinse and repeat until they finally give up and sit there (at least long enough for me to decide to leave the coop. I have no idea if they stayed after that or not). This process went on for days. One evening I went to do the routine, and wow...one was already sitting on the roost.
Moral of the story, I'm stronger willed than they are

Try showing them where to perch. Also you might want to try a range of different roosting plots. Mine prefer wide perches, that they can grab onto. They don’t really like rounded perches. Let us know how you get on
