Hi there! Just wondering if anyone has ordered from chickensforbackyards.com. I have an order of 4 chicks coming from them and would like to know what others experienced. Extras? Sexing correct? Dead chicks? These will be my first chicks, just curious to see if other have used this company. Thanks so much!

Hi I ordered from them almost 3 years ago and was very satisfied all 9 I ordered were correct breeds and sexes unfortunately I lost 2 this past week but not from health problems a hawk killed them, and one of them was an australorp who was by far the friendliest sweetest bird I had and was still laying consistently, all the rest are very healthy and extremely friendly.I would recommend them and order from them again if they weren't so expensive now, that's the only negative about them I don't know why they went up so much on there prices in 3 years, well good luck and enjoy them.

So good to hear that! Thank you! And so sorry to hear about the 2 you lost! How terrible! Hawks are one of my biggest fears with the chickens. These will be my first but I have heard a lot of horror stories and we have seen them around our house in the past. I have ordered one australorp, one buff orpington, one barred rock , and one white rock. Starting small, which is why I ordered from them. Hard to find a hatchery that takes small orders. I agree though that they are a little pricey compared to others! I hope my australorp is as sweet as you say, I have heard that they are wonderful birds!

Your welcome and I think you will be very happy with them, the breeds you picked are all very friendly and just be vigilante about the hawks. In my case I think it was a rare instance because he actually entered my coop through the pop door,I think he was very hungry and desperate because that's not normal behavior but it has been a very harsh winter up here in the north east, take care and enjoy!
