Hi, Montanans!
Livingston here...Lost all my girls last month and looking to start over...Tried to incubate the eggs from the last days but don't think they're gonna hatch...Had a rooster/some fertile eggs but think they stalled out somehow.
Sooo now researching hatcheries; not sure if I wanna go Murdoch's/Murray McMurray.

Best,

livin' in Bozeman. and just getting into the chicken game. Ordered 25 on Saturday and reclaiming an old farm building to make into a coop. What is a "chickenstock"

To any one in the Gallatin Valley.
I own a restaurant and we pitch a lot of green veggies and we prep them. If there are any chicken people that would like some lettuce and odd veggies to feed just drop me a line. Would love to find a use for it.

That would be Awesome, grateful!

I won't have a need for them for a while but I could arrange pickups from you on occasion when I'm over the hill in Bozeman...
I'm also looking into recycling the used greens from our local soup kitchen.

I'm going to try and incubate some more Delaware eggs; don't want to get them from Murdoch's so i guess I'm taking the hard road. I may get my Black Australorps from them or Buff Orps...Just wondering...where did yours come from? what kind of birds do you have?

yeah let's keep talking Chickenstock (think woodstock except for instead of mud and the brown acid there's Chickens...?)

We have just started to tget into the chicken gig. Our chicks are coming form Mcmurry hatchery. we ordered"
LIGHT BRAHMAS (5)
ARAUCANAS (5)
WHITE ORPINGTONS (5)
BLACK AUSTRALORPS (5)
PARTRIDGE ROCK (5)
We are reclaiming an old farm building form 1927 and moving it to our land. Should be a great time. With a little more research i would have gone the Delaware, Java, and Marans route, but there is always next season. 25 is a lot to jump in to, but we have tons of family and friends we are going to do a garden/ egg exchange. best of both worlds.
How did yo lose your flock?

Also I have seen a lady on this board in Montana that raises Delawares. Sorry I can't remember her name.
