Chickentrain's Dog Q&A

idk, it's the rules
dogs can't be neutered and bitches can't be spayed

For the American Kennel Club, and some other organizations, they want the winners to be able to breed and produce more dogs like themselves. A neutered animal cannot do that.

Also, even if they did allow neutered animals to compete, they might have to make separate classes for them, with slightly different standards, just like they already judge males and females separately. Animals that are neutered before sexual maturity do not look the same as animals that grow up intact.

Oh.
You can compete age 9-18
I think that you can start practicing if you're under 9, but you're not under 9, I'm sure
Then I can join:yesss:. I don't think young children could join BYC; there's an age minimum. I am a bit worried about the examination parts, though. I am not sure if he will be willing to let strangers touch him like that...

then that's something you should work on!!
If you don't think that he's a bite risk, when out in public, if someone wants to pet him, be like 'can you do me a favor and touch his [body part]?' sub in paws, ears, tail, etc, and give him lots of treats so that it's a positive experience.

Yeah...we have lots to work on. He doesn't even like people to go near him.

well that's not good!!!
Maybe invite a friend over for socialization, repeat? Make your friend some cupcakes for their trouble and figure out where his threshold is, and do different exercises that involve treats, both from you and from friend.

I have no friends to ask over(especially with Covid).
But maybe I could try rewarding him when random people come closer than he is used to. I've also found a few trainers to choose from, which might help!:D

thats rude
That's just possibly the least healthy cross ever made from the finest examples of poor breeding. Those dogs are almost guaranteed to have joint problems and behavior problems and will most likely end up in shelters for most of their short lives, and people are trying to turn this into a 'designer' dog 'breed' when really it's just a mutt that was created to make a quick buck, which is disgusting. I don't see how not liking that is 'rude'.
