Chickentrain's Dog Q&A

Mom has nothing to do with it, just train your dog. it won't bark if you make a rule of no barking
But wouldn’t some dogs be easier to train then others?
It’s completely up to you. Even with some that aren’t prone to guarding their person against leaves, the shrillness may bother some people who you live with.
the hight pitched bark is the problem, some websites said they will yip at things but you can tell them to be quiet, which wouldn’t work for me at the moment since both my mother and my brothers don’t like yipping at all which I understand.

yes but barking is a training issue, not a temperment issue

He’s an Aussie? He’s a herding breed who wishes to be with he you? My old ACD used to do the same thing about getting in cars. She was a nervous wreck while in them, but always wanted to jump in. 😂
Yes. My grandma always has at least one and hed the only one that's done it to this extent

I understood it to be both.

With the same level of not-training, some breeds will bark more than others.

And if you try to train them not to bark, it is easier with some breeds than others.

Some breeds like LSG's will bark, but most dog breeds (like the tibetan spaniel) aren't bred for their orginal job anymore, so they loose certian breed traits.

That’s actually huge for a Pomeranian—more harking back to the days of 30lbs. The AKC standard states that a Pomeranian should be 4-8 lbs. There used to be classes for Poms from 8-12 lbs. I’m curious if her Pom has something else in her? Intriguing.
I cannot estimate size, so I'm probably drastically incorrect lol
I'm positive that she's pure pomeranian. She's the smallest dog that I've ever met aside from their chihuahua.

Dog height is measured to the shoulders, not the top of their head, not their ear tips, and certainly not how high they are when standing on their hind legs. So that could be affecting your estimate, because of course we measure people's height to the top of their head while standing up :D

OOOOOOOH OK
I was totally measuring to the top of her head. She's WAY shorter than that high for the shoulder. Probably isn't taller than 8-10 inches to the shoulder, if you take into account my garbage estimating skills.
