Chickentrain's Dog Q&A

Why are english cream goldens bad?
A Golden retriever is supposed to be GOLDEN. Not brown, tan, cream, yellow, white, red, rust or any other color. White blazes on the chest, face, toes, belly, feet or anywhere else are faults and should not be bred. Cream is not a breed standard. What happens is one person with a Golden finds another person with a Golden and says hey, let's get our dogs together and make babies and sell em and get rich, with no thought for the genetics, and they end up with an odd-colored puppy. Then they say, wow, lookit that, how special! And they breed for that "rare, unusual" color and end up ruining the breed. That's how you get Collies that are white all over except for the head (and subject to blindness or deafness, I forget which) and curly-coated Rottweilers with white blazes and toes and really all kinds of off-standard dogs flooding the market. Sorry, one of my soapbox issues. People should not breed unless they intend to improve the breed. That's why dog shows are far more than just beauty contests.

ditto.

Sorry to be a bit blunt with this, but: Is pet insurance for if your poodle tears up your curtains or your show champion poodle gets hit by a car?

Is energy level still in proportion to size? For example, a german shorthaired pointer and a corgi are both considered pretty high energy breeds, but would the GSP need more exercise because of its larger size?

Also how do show names work? Like someone could be like this is Sir Charles Land of the Free James, but I call him Mittens.
I know that each registered name, at least in horses, has to be different, so they get really long and absurd now since most normal names are registered now. But then they usually have regular call names as well
