Chickentrain's Dog Q&A

If I plan to go forward with agility, here's my plan (not really in order) of what to teach for before starting formal agility training

Stand (up from down or sit)
Heel
Heel with changing pace
Back up
Spin
Go around (an object)
Switch sides (of me)
Touch targets, both with nose and paw

I'll also try to socialize him really well and get him used to doing commands in different situations and on different surfaces, as well as introducing him to unstable surfaces like a wobble board to prepare for see saws n stuff.
Am I missing anything?

How do you differentiate a dog's energy and drive from regular puppy energy?

Energy - how long they'll go for. Puppies sleep a lot. Most puppies will play for 30 or so mins a day, then go right back to bed and snooze for a long time. Higher energy puppies will play more and sleep a little less

Drive - Food drive is pretty easy to tell, so is praise drive. For toy drive, intensity. How intense is the dog about playing? is it just grabbing the toy and just doing puppy things, or does that puppy REALLY want that toy, and is it willing to do almost anything for said toy?

I once played with ND for like 2 hours after a walk lol
Maybe she just has lots of lent up energy?
