I really want Finn to get his CGC but my parents don't want me to do formal classes with him. I'm reading up on it, but do you think that it's attainable for me to teach him at home??

IDK if it's attainable but it could be cool to have him be a therapy do and go to nursing homes n stuff

For both I'll need to work on commands more. I have more free time now so I'll try to finish lay down (he's struggling for some reason) proof sit with distractions, and really build a solid recall, as well as working on leave it (which he's doing pretty well with) and starting heel

How do you teach a 'watch me' command? I have a feeling that there's a better way than holding a treat up to your eyes like zac george does

that is an awful way because they learn to only look at you for food.

I shaped it.. whenever deacon glanced up at me I rewarded, after he started giving me eye contact for a few seconds at a time, I added a command and duration. You can also use sound to get their attention. Say Finn! and when he looks at you say yes! good watch me!

Is there a way to teach 'be polite and sniff and don't jump at and definitely don't hump this dog unless i say you can play with them'? Is it just giving a cue like 'play' when it's ok, and not allowing it when it isn't? not allowing meaning moving away, or meaning holding his harness so that he can't?

you can teach a release word, not allowing him to go play until he's calm, and then using an "ok" or a "go play" release word. Deacon knows that he's not allowed to do *most* things without an ok from me. He always looks up at me as if to say "can I?" whenever he is not sure, and guess what! he even knows that a nod means Sure! go do it.

I just love my dog and how tuned into eachother we are shhh
