Chickentrain's Dog Q&A

Does everyone think a 107 question questionnaire is a bit ridiculous for a breeder to do or normal?
I think it took an hour to complete it definitely took over 30 minutes.

It had questions like how will you socialise the puppy to traffic, dogs, livestock. How will you toilet train it. A lot of questions where you could write a very long thing on it. It is apparently meant to gauge how experienced you are and other things, but their was no question of whether we had had a puppy before

Also a what is everyones thoughts on a breeder doing a homecheck?
Ended up deciding against this breeder, they are against raw feeding. Thankfully they where not recommended to me

Thanks everyone for the answers regarding Oliver.

If he used to be super excited about eating his dry food, and now he's not, that's a sign that something's still wrong- have you told the vet?
Near the beginning when he wasn't eating we did, but we're planning to call them again later today.

Ooh yeah red flag imo
I emailed the breeder saying
“Thank you for taking the time to answer everything in the questionnaire. Unfortunately I don’t think your dogs are right for us”

And they answered basically sayings “thank you for being open with us, we agree samoyeds aren’t for everyone”
Umm :th Did what I say really sound like I didn’t want a samoyed? And not that I didn’t want on of their dogs? Oh well at least it ended with out upsetting someone
