Wow. My collie wasn't barky at all. I guess it depends on the dog. And I didn't find him very sturdy but that's maybe because he was very weak at death

European collies are also very different. Auggie is getting pretty weak now too, but he's 12 so it's expected.

Mine? 3,000 or less. Our current collies were cheaper but the breeder knew I had big plans for them so she made an exception.

The Collies here cost 1200-1500 and google said so too. But yeah some are more expensive

I need to help finding a breed again! So things have changed and I am no longer getting a Samoyed. I now need a psychiatric assistance/service dog, I will probably be looking at breed rescues so I don’t want something too uncommon, but I also don’t want a breed that has too many really bad health issues.

What I need:
60cm tall at minimum
Not too destructive (I need to be able to skip a day of lots of doggy activities with out it destroying things)
Gets a long with cats
Be able to be trained as a service/assistance dog

Dog breeds I am looking in to:
Rough/smooth collie (Not sure they are what I want)
Bernes mountain dog (worried about health issues)

Another YES for the Collie. I've had them and worked with them and well bred ones are calm and intuitive of their handler's needs, once past the puppy stage.

By the way, I have not found collies to be particularly barky as far as herding breeds go. Farm collie types, yes, Shelties doubly YES (which is what I have now), but not collies.
