Hmm what could possibly be under this dirt? could it be grubs?

It was to windy to go out side today so we brought out side to the chickies...

They have most their feathers three still have fuzz around the neck and a little under the wings
One female is fully feathered all over her name is Floe

Mr Grey is by far my most favorite when i took a nap today I had my leg propped on their box while they played in the dirt and he climbed up on my chest and snuggled in for a nap.

awww! I will be doing this soon as well. I have had mine almost 2 weeks. I love my BR's!

I have 15 BR's. 2 weeks old, so far all are doing great. First timer and love it. When can I do the dirt thing?

I only have 4 but I have been taking them out as soon as they got their feathers they still have a little fuzz around the neck and head but their body is mostly covered in feathers.
And it has been really warm here between 85 - 90 degrees, for me I would take them out daily if they have most their feathers, and if the weather is warm enough.
I got my babies april 25th this is their 3rd week with me mine was 2 weeks old when I got them.

You can also bring it in to them in a bowl I used a halloween candy bowl its really large and several can fit in at the same time. I think they like throwing dirt at each other.

Now I just dump a bunch of dirt in it from out side full of worms, and grubs and they love it and i put grass clippings in there too. I think dirt acts as natures grit for them.
Other more experienced Chicken owners may have more advice about that but this is just what I am doing.
