Chickies eyes glued shut?

I have one week old chick that seems to developed a glue eye problem

he is fine after using a bit of warm water to bathe the eye and happily plays with the other chicks, but once he has a sleep we have to wash his eye out again...

Is ther any idea what this could be or what is the best way to treat the ailment

I read somewhere to brew some tea and use it to bathe their eye. Our new bunny had a problem when she came from the feed store but I just bathed her eye with warm water and it cleared up (think it was the dust from the pine shavings they were kept in).

My memory is not good but seems they said something about the tannin in the tea?? Would be worth a try...might have to do it more than once.
