Can anyone guess what their breeds are?
these little chicks are 24 days old and starting to get feathers on top of their head!
had to move them to a temporary brooder the other one got too small. this one is 3 times bigger.

yes they love the corn perches. cant get them to stand on sticks or anything else. but they love their cans of corn LOL

its so hard to get good pictures because my phone is garbage and they never stand still.

so the brown one i was told is an easter egger but i have my doubts.
i think she is an olive egger.
the yellow one is maybe a buff? I'm sorry i can't get better pictures.

they are named cakes(brown) blondie(yellow)

There is no difference between an Easter Egger and an Olive Egger besides the color egg they lay, so knowing which she is will be a while :)

The other could possibly be a buff Orpington, do you only have two chicks? Do you have a pre-existing flock? :D

long story short I did have 3 chickens, 3 baby chicks but now only the 2 chicks are left.
one chick died at 5 days old, never found out why she died. she was sick from day 1.
and my other chickens was killed. no i don't want to talk about it. lets just say don't let dopers on your property...

I'd check Craigslist and your local feedstores next time you're out and see if you can find some more of similar age, I believe the recommended minimum size of a flock to be 3 :D

Actually that is in debate. I know many people to have only 1 chicken here in california and they do very well.
However it is recommended to Buy at least 3 incase one dies is what my feed store said the day i got them and since then 1 died.

Id say a single chicken is only if you're gonna treat it like a dog/cat and have a lot of time to put into it and time to be around it :) chickens are social birds, it's like corydoras fish, you can keep a single but they're much more happy, content and will really shine when in a group :D Best of luck with your two ladies

Single chickens do not do well.
They are flock animals, and should always have a friend.
Spending time with them does not make up for it. For a start, you couldn't possibly spend the amount of time she would need. Secondly because you are not a chicken.
And thirdly, they shouldn't be treated like a dog or a cat because they aren't. It wouldn't suit them. It's so much nicer for a chicken to live a normal life, outside with her flock mates.
And yes. I would have a minimum of two chickens together, but three is much more ideal.
Do you have better photos of the birds, without the red light? I can't tell much from those photos. The light one could well be a buff Orpington. Hard to tell with that lighting.
Sorry to hear about the previous birds.
