Chicks (17 weeks) sleeping in run, not coop

I bought a couple of 3 week old chicks last summer and kept them separated from the older girls by wire, still in the run but with their own little roosting box. When they had grown enough to hold their own, I integrated them into the flock and eventually removed the roost box. And instead of going into the coop with the other girls, which I mistakenly thought they would, they decided to sleep on the floor where their roost Box had been. So I picked them up and put them in the coop on the lowest roost bar, the first night. The second night, there they were again on the floor, so I picked them up and put them in the coop again. The third night there they were again... in fact this went on for about 2 months!! I laughed about it, I'm so soppy, I seriously had to put my chickens to bed! Short of telling them a bed time story they became my new children hahaha! However, they did get it eventually!!

Well that is kind of hilarious L1sa, thanks for sharing! I supposed I might have to do this. I'm going away this weekend so I should wait til I return so there can be a consistent bedtime routine!! :)
