I'm new to chickens but am thoroughly enjoying my new Buff Orpington chicks (6). I'm just checking to see if anyone is from around these parts.

My husband and I are working with other like minded people to change the local laws regarding backyard chickens and bees (and pygmy goats). If you are interested in any of the above, I would love to hear from you.

Hello and
welcome-byc.gif
. I am in Alhambra, just where the 710 ends. I have 15 hens. The city says I'm allowed 15. Someone called animal control and they came out and counted the girls!! I had 18 then and he just told me to get rid of 3. This is a wonderful place for all your chicken questions and concerns! Glad you joined us!

Hi Selene :)

I'm located in the San Fernando Valley but visit Long Beach often. I didn't realize more than one chicken was not allowed within 50 feet of a neighboring residence until today. I read this entire thread this morning and there are quite a few people actively trying to change the law. I hope you'll be able to connect with someone.
