Chicks and rain/being wet

our 6 week olds are moved outside all day and night, we are getting rain today. Will they go in their coop or seek cover when it rains?

Never had chickens before and my kids are asking.

6 weeks?? Most likely not. Watch them close, probably should put them in. I lost a bunch of chicks last year we got a bad storm when I was working and wasnt there to put them in. Came home to soaked, dead chicks.

And they were more like 12 weeks.

Yeah, chickens arnt the smartest creatures, they dont like the rain yet they cnt seem to figure out how to go into their coop while its nasty outside. I once had to go rescue my birds during a tornado warning.

Is it stressful for the chicks to be separated? I got 3 of them back to the brooder, while others (21, hopefully) are hiding outside. It is raining and I am worrying for them to get wet, but while they were not hiding well at first, they seem to be under cover now. Is it very stressful for them to be separated? I want to eventually get all of them back to the brooder, but the rest are hiding now.
They were born around April 23, so they are almost 6 weeks now.
