Chicks are gross!!

My little 2+ week olds are spending the day outside. There are 4 BLRW and one blind mutt chick (Helen). I moved the chicken run to a cleaner patch of grass and put them in there, while the bigger chickens roam the yard. I looked over and they were all snuggled together for a little nap. Aww, so cute, I thought. But what were they snuggled on top of? A huge pile of dog poop... They then proceeded to eat it.

Yuck! I'm going to think twice before letting them snuggle with me.

Aw man! I just ate chocolate ice cream! Spit, spit, spit....

That dog poo was probably fresh .. so it was nice and steamy warm - who wouldn't want to snuggle up to that?

Well the worst part is that they are now using it as their home base. Whenever anything scares them, they run to the pile of poo.

I'm heading out with the poop scoop. This has to stop.

Maybe they'd like a rock to sit on.

Mine love our cement block we use as a step to our coop. They all try laying on it! You may be right! Throw a big rock in there
