Chicks are gross!!

Hangin wit my peeps wrote:
Mine love our cement block we use as a step to our coop. They all try laying on it!

I put a cement block in my run for my goats but my chickens hog it all the time - they'll get four or five of them on one cement block!

Still ... cement block and dog poo ... there just isn't a comparison there... who wouldn't pick the poo over the cement block?

Chicks are only gross till you hang around cows for awhile. I watched a young heifer yesterday as she watched my chickens. While she watched she was busy picking her nose with her tongue! :|

What a nice warm spot for a nap!

I was VERY pleased yesterday when we had a visitor stop by on her horse, the horse of course! pooped on the grass, within about 15 minutes the chickens had that all spread out nicely - no need to scoop it!

Gritstar, have you read about how big cattle operations are increasingly using chicken manure as a cattle feed?

Increasingly, American cattle farmers feed their herds chicken manure, which health officials warn could contain dangerous bacteria that ends up in ground meat eaten by humans, the magazine reports in its September 1 issue. The waste that is mixed with livestock feed is a less expensive alternative to using grains and hay

(urp) I think I'm going to (urp) vomit chocolate ice cream! (actually, Moose Tracks)

Aw man, that's sick. But really hilarious! I imagine a conversation:

Chick1: So, uh, where do you want to hang out today? *shivers*
Chick2: It's pretty warm out, but I feel kind of chilly.
Chick1: How about a sun bathing rock?
Chick3: Nah, to...odorless.
Chick2: Hey, what about that big brown rock? It's warm and hard and it smells so good!
All: *run for the dog poo*
