The treatment for splay leg is the same whether mild or severe....pop a manacle on him/her made from micropore tape....cut a strip about 5mm wide, wrap one end round one ankle, other end round other ankle with a strip joining the two which is the same width as the chick's hips.....simple!

I would wait AT LEAST  24 to 36 hours for the little one to recover from hatch before manacling as it can be stressful and they often struggle against them for a while before getting used to them, draining their energy fast if they are too young.
