Chicks are hatching!!!

Just keep an eye on things,
and be ready (figure it out now, tho you might not need it)to throw up some kind of a barrier to keep mama and chicks safe from agressive flock members at least for a few days.

Thanks for that. I will keep an eye and do what I can.

That would be Sorsha. She is definitely the one i would be most concerned about based on what you are saying.

I didnt raise them though I got most of them at about 10 months old. My rooster Ive had since he was 4 months as well as the broody hen sitting on the eggs.
Well then I would either watch her, or if she's actually pretty aggressive to everybody, separate her from the others for the first few days, but keep her in sight of the flock. That's what I would do.

But when I say aggressive, it's not just little pecks to the head once in a while, that's normal for every chicken. I mean feather pulling and constant harassing. But if you don't have any of that, I think it should be ok. Just be prepared for anything. Mentally and physically.

Ran into a hiccup. My hen decided to stop sitting on the 5 remaining eggs. Honestly I was a little worried that might happen because in my newbness to this whole endeavor I added eggs a few days after the first set. So I've got half the eggs that aren't actually due to hatch for a day or two. Anyway I put together a DIY incubator to hopefully get them through. I wasnt expecting her to give up on them quite so quickly but hopefully at least a couple will make it.

Well, some is better than none.
