Chicks at night...

I'm getting a couple day-olds soon. At night, do I just leave the light on them like in the day? Will that set off their internal clock or whatever?

They don't seem to have much diurnal rhythm - not like the grown birds. I use a red light, with the idea that it's less like sunlight than the white heat lamps.

I've also seen some really cool bulbs (porcelain) that emit heat, but no light. One of those would probably be ideal, but they are rather pricey for a bulb.
