Question about heat...

My 5 chicks, 5 weeks old are currently in my non heated garage in a coop the temperature outside goes down to around 30 rt now...I have a heat plate set up where they sleep at night ...when can I take that away? As soon as I let them out in the am they hang in the bottom mostly no heat source...

If temp outside is 30 is the garage also 30? They look pretty well feathered so they probably don't need it at all - are they using it right now at night? If yes you can leave it in place for another few days up to a week, turning it off completely the last few days to fully get them off heat while still providing them the familiarity of "mom", but I'd wager they'd be fine now without it.

The garage i assume is about the same temp as outside minus the winds...they seem to be comfortable active and happy.... They do have it now but I never catch them up there untill I put them in at night so I assume they dont need it...I will keep it anther week tho thanks.
