chicks beak.....

my little chick stuck her beak through her cage today and my dog bit the end of her beak....it started bleeding right away and the other chicks started pecking her..u got her out of the coop right away and saw the back of her beaks top layer was peeled back.......we called the vet and they said they dont deal with chickens....luckily one of the doctors who was on duty has over 100 chickens and said to come in and that she could help...she stopped the bleeding and put the beak back together...now ople our buff orp is eating and drinking and hopefully her beak will grow back.......is there anything else i can do for her

The only thing you can do is carefully observe the chick to make sure she eats and drinks normally, ensure she doesnt get picked on etc...basically supportive care if needed. Sounds like you have a good vet...lucky you!
