The blind one passed last night. I’m sad because I loved her and she was sweet but at the same time relieved that she isn’t hungry, thirsty, or in pain anymore.
This was to be expected as very often they also suffer from severe internal disorders as well. :hugs

With regard to the other chick.: you can add a bit of sand for her in a dust bath to pick at which often helps with the digestion in case of pasty butt.

I can show you a picture of my setup, it was quickly thrown together so I’m sure it’s not great. The blind one passed last night. I’m sad because I loved her and she was sweet but at the same time relieved that she isn’t hungry, thirsty, or in pain anymore. Thank you everyone for all your help.
:( I'm sorry that you lost the blind one, you did what you could for her.

How is the one with the leg problems doing?

She seems to be doing fine, we gave her another friend, so I guess that’s another one we can eat. šŸ˜‚ She’s still breathing hard and keeps getting pasty butt, but I believe she’s eating and drinking.

I'm glad your friend was able to take her, sounds like she's improving.

OmbrĆ©, the chick with splay leg, is still alive! She still breathes rather hard, but I don’t think she really clicks when she breathes anymore. She might still be clicking just not all the time and not as loud. I believe she is around two weeks. Her legs are far from perfect, she can get around with and without the brace, so I’m not sure when to take it off for good. She does keep breaking the brace though. :) However she is very very small. Her new chick friend is also very small compared to the other meat chickens, which was why I picked him to be her friend. Do ya’ll know why she’s growing so slowly? The other chick’s name is Brio.

Do any of you guys know about freedom rangers? Can they live long healthy lives even though they’re meat chickens? The brace in the pictures above is not actually attaching the two legs, sweet little OmbrĆ© broke it. :D
