Chicks creating own heat at day 5 ?!?!?

I have 42 eggs in my incubator at day 5, the temps have been at 99-100 degrees, but i came home today and it was at 101. The wafer thermostat hasn't been touched since 2 weeks ago when i got the temp perfect. There has been no change in the outside temp, outside or in the house. Could the eggs be creating heat already??

although incubators cannot reduce heat only increase if the eggs where creating heat then the incubator thermostat would kick in to allow for cooling and then bring the temp back to the set temp

so on that theory i think the thermostat is wrong or something

try a second thermostat to compaire the two
