I think they love the "ready made" nest. Are the chicks Black Australorps? Just guessing from the bit I can see of them. Hope they don't peck your husband in the eyes. Chickens love attacking eye balls.

They are french copper marans. They do peck at his ears and eyebrows lol But so far he doesn't mind.. lol they are 4 days old..
