Tomorrow is day 18 and I just moved my hen with her nest and eggs to a large dog kennel that I have. It is midnight here and I waited until dark and moved her entire crate and nest with eggs. I am leaving the coop dark and not turning the red light that I usually do because I want her to settle in. I have the dog kennel closed but still inside the coop with the others. I figured I couldn't move her after day 18, is that right? I shouldn't touch the eggs now? I hope she stays put as the daylight breaks. I won't be able to watch her all day tomorrow, as I have to work. My question is: Is there anything else I should do? I will give her food and water and keep her in the protected kennel for tomorrow. Maybe let her stretch her legs tomorrow when I get off work and then settle her back on the eggs? This is my first time hatching eggs of any kind and this forum has been so helpful. I just need some reassurance that I am on the right track. Can't wait until Sunday!

I'd put in food and water in front of her... something that CANNOT SPILL... and leave her be.

Wish you could be there in the morning to watch and see how she does.

Thank You! I am leaving for work now and did a quick peek at her. She is still on the nest! Yay!! I will put the food and water close to her as you suggested, that may keep her right there. Appreciate the input. I think she is going to be a good Mom. She is a Buff Orp.
