Chicks dying due to shipping?

Thanks for all the advice. In total I've lost 15 baby chicks, but since I got 2 free ones they were only able to refund for 13, which is fine close enough. Everyone is doing fine now, I haven't had any that died today or yesterday. I remember when I went to pick up the chicks, the worker told me that they had arrived "yesterday." Now this was my first time ordering chicks so I don't know if the chicks normally arrive the day before to the post office and you get them the next day? But I don't think that's right. I think when they called me to pick up the chicks that morning it was referring to Ideal chicks, which weren't suppose to come until the next day. It it's true that means the chicks was left there in the post office overnight uncared for. Because when I opened the box the chicks were cold and very weak. Meyer's chicks and Ideal chicks are in separated brooder, I have yet to lose any of the Silkies I received from Ideal.

Oh my gosh, I know this is an old post, but I am online desperately trying to find out why all of these horribly puny, sickly barred rock hens that I received from Meyer Hatchery are dropping dead! We ordered 20 chicks, and they got here much quicker than they ever have (we have always ordered from McMurray in the past, and Meyer is much closer to us). 3 were DOA, 3 died within and hour of getting in the brooder, and 4 more were dead in 12 hours. Now we are losing one every few hours, and these are ones that were active and eating and doing well. We are down to 8. I feel terrible. This is depressing.
This is not just shipping stress, as Meyer has insisted, cause now chicks have perked up then gotten sick. They are pasting some but we have removed it promptly. I think they are sick, and I would urge people to SERIOUSLY reconsider before ordering from Meyer Hatchery. I will never let anything from their factory enter my home again!
